【摘要】:Chemicalcompositionofwater-formeddepositsisamajorindicatorofproperorimproperchemicaltreatmentofprocesswater,andisoftenanindicatorofoperationalparametersaswell,forexample,temperaturecontrol.Thispracticeallowsforrapiddeterminationofconstituentspresentinthesedeposits,particularlythoseindicationsofimproperwatertreatment,sincetheyusuallyhaveverydistinctiveandeasilyrecognizedopticalproperties.Thispractice,whereapplicable,eliminatestheneedfordetailedchemicalanalysis,whichistime-consuming,andwhichdoesnotalwaysrevealhowcationsandanionsaremutuallybound.Qualitativeuseofthispracticeshouldbelimitedtothosedepositswhosecontrolisgenerallyknownorpredictable,basedontreatmentandfeedwatermineralcontent,andwhoseconstituentsarecrystalline,orinotherwaysopticallyormorphologicallydistinctive.Ifthesecriteriaarenotmet,othertechniquesofanalysisshouldbeused,suchasPracticeD2332orTestMethodsD3483,orboth.Quantitativeuseofthispracticeshouldbelimitedtoestimatesonly.Formoreprecisequantitativeresults,othermethodsshouldbeused(see5.3).1.1Thispracticedescribesaprocedurefortheexaminationofwater-formeddepositsbymeansofchemicalmicroscopy.Thispracticemaybeusedtocomplementothermethodsofexaminationofwater-formeddepositsasrecommendedinPracticesD2331oritmaybeusedalonewhennootherinstrumentationisavailableorwhenthesamplesizeisverysmall.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
